Liposonix

We are the first practice in Miami to have the Liposonix treatment which uses noninvasive, high-intensity focused ultrasound to permanently destroy targeted fat around your waistline (abdomen and love handles) without surgery, which may leave you with a slimmer, more contoured waistline.

The average waistline reduction after a single, 1-hour treatment is about 2.5 cm or one dress or pant size. Results are typically seen in 8 to 12 weeks (which is the time needed for the body to naturally remove the treated fat). Office visit time and individual results may vary.

The Liposonix treatment is not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle, or a way to lose weight but allows you to get rid of fat that will not go away no matter how many crunches you do.

During treatment, you may feel discomfort, pain, cold, prickling, tingling, or warmth. After treatment, you may experience minimal discomfort, bruising, redness, and swelling, which are generally described (or rated) as mild.

How is Liposonix Different?

The Liposonix treatment is unique because of its high-energy output and high frequency; creating a thermal effect that permanently destroys the targeted fat in the abdomen and love handles. Also it has the unique ability to focus its energy at specific depths in the fat without damaging surrounding tissue or non-targeted areas.

Compared to the Liposonix treatment, low-energy systems such as laser or radio-frequency are not able to reach the fat located deep below the outer layers of skin. This is because the energy these systems use is reflected and absorbed by the skin. The Liposonix system uses high-intensity focused ultrasound energy, which is not reflected and absorbed by the skin but penetrates through the skin layers and into the targeted fat without harming skin or surrounding tissues

How do I schedule an online consult?

Do I need to do anything before my SKYPE consultations?

Before scheduling your online consult you will need to have set up a SKYPE account, and have access to a webcam. Upon scheduling, contact information will be given to you along with the time you will need to connect to our office.  Also, you must have completed the online questionnaire, at SkinTypeSolutions.com and have your 4 letter Baumann Skin Type.

What should I expect during the consultation?

The online consult will be one hour long.  During that time Dr. Baumann will go over your personalized skincare regimen created specifically for you based on your Baumann Skin Type.  During that time she will also answer any questions you may have about cosmetic procedures.

Can I bring a friend with me during the consultation?

A lot of patients choose to have a companion with them for support during the consultation however, the consultation fee only covers one personal consultation.  If the person you choose to bring has questons they will need to schedule a separate appointment.

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel your appointment we require 24 hours notice.  If proper notice is not given half of the consultation fee will be charged.

At Baumann Cosmetic & Research Institute, our goal is to promote treatments that have a scientific basis and work for our patients. To that end, we are a leader in the field of clinical research, evaluating the safety and efficacy of cosmetic dermatology products and procedures.

We've performed over 40 clinical trials in this area and currently have many other studies ongoing. We have a cosmetic patient roster of over 5,000 patientsand work in tandem with 15 dermatologists at the Baumann Cosmetic & Research Institute – who combine to see over 100,000 patients a year.

We are also frequently sought out to conduct clinical trials because of our attention to detail, our extensive experience and resources, and our ability to quickly publish study results.

• Botulinum toxin for excess sweating of palms
