Chemical Peels

Chemical peels help correct sun damage, flatten mild scarring and improve wrinkles and skin tone. Depending on the severity of the skin's defects and the skin type, light, medium or deep peels can be used. At the Institute, we offer 10 different peeling methods and always select the one best suited for your skin type. Some types of peels allow you to return to work immediately, whereas others require 7-10 days of healing time. Peels are performed every two weeks to six months, depending on the type of peel used. Certain types of peels can be used safely in darker skin types, but it is recommended that such patients see a skin of color specialist such as Dr. Woolery-Lloyd.
