Director of Clinical Research at the Baumann Cosmetic and Research Institute, Melissa Mayans has over 13 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She has been involved in multiple research trials involving vascular access devices for patients diagnosed with end stage renal disease requiring dialysis. Her most recent trials involved the use of adipose-derived stem cells for the treatment of osteoarthritis, COPD, and diabetes. Melissa manages all institutional research studies and protocols including subject interaction and implementation of study design, development of assessment tools, protocols, and procedures. She is responsible for conducting internal monitoring of ongoing clinical research studies to assure protocol and regulatory compliance. In 2016, she earned her Associates of Science degree in Medical Assisting from Keiser University and is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Sciences.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Melissa spends her free time with her husband and three children.

Lauren Cornelius is a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Baumann Cosmetic and Research Institute. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining our team, Lauren was a research coordinator in Los Angeles, California working on studies that involved the treatment of Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Macular Edema, Retinal Detachments, and Uveitis. She is responsible for coordinating daily activities of designated clinical trials including: recruitment, screening, data collection and management of trial-related study documents. Her most recent accomplishment was becoming a Certified Phlebotomist.

She spends her free time with family and friends.

Elizabeth Bahamonde is a Research Assistant at the Baumann Cosmetic and Research Institute.
